If you are an avid book reader, then possibly you will be reading more than one book at a time.   For those who don't understand the world and philosophy of a book-reader, then they would never understand how we can do this, and still keep track of each individual story unfolding.

This is where it gets a bit tricky at times.   We tend to use old shopping lists, a scrap of newspaper, an old Christmas card, perhaps a business card or plane ticket, to keep our place in any book that we're reading.   Too often these small scraps of paper slip out of the book and we become frustrated!

But this need never happen again.

Rainy Day Books has a lovely little selection of hand-made beaded bookmarks.  Just the thing to buy for yourself or to buy and give as a gift.

When you call in at the bookshop, take time to wander around and see what else may be there and just be the answer of what to give someone as a birthday or other celebratory gift.

Are there fairies at the bottom of your garden?

I am sure there are some in my garden and my granddaughters and I have looked for them many times.

However this week there are fairies at Rainy Day Book shop.

The window display is delightful with fairies, frogs, butterflies and ladybirds peeping around  ferns and toadstools. There are also several special fairy books including Lady Cottington’s pressed fairy book.   The complete flower fairy book and some Shirley Barber books.

Watch for the next instalment which will be Goblins and gnomes.

Leaves, leaves, leaves are falling at Rainy Day Books this week.
No, not page leaves, real glowing autumn leaves.

Do come along and see the lovely oak, maple and other coloured leaves in the window and check out some of the orange books on display. They range from Fast Eddie, Essential Oils, Mauve Binchy – Tara Road, Frankenstein – Mary Shelley and also include lots of orange Penguins.

Now is the time to curl up with a hot cuppa, a warm rug and a good book.
